Matthew Wright, 44, a Trousdale County Sheriff’s Department Captain was indicted on February 17, 2026, by a Grand Jury in Trousdale County, to face charges of Sexual Battery, Official Misconduct and Aggravated Assault against a female employee of the department.
An investigation by special agents of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) began Sept. 19, 2025, at the request of the 15th Judicial District Attorney General Jason Lawson.
